Havli is a household budgeting app. This policy explains what information it collects, why, who it’s shared with, how long it’s kept, and the rights you have over it.
Who is responsible for your data
Havli is developed and operated by Simonas Mickevičius, trading as an individual (individuali veikla) in Lithuania. For the purposes of data protection law, Simonas Mickevičius is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What data Havli collects
Havli is used by a household (a small group of people, such as a family or housemates, sharing one budget). Creating an account and using the app involves the following personal data:
- Account data — the email address and password you sign up with, handled by our authentication provider (see “Who we share data with” below). We never see or store your password ourselves.
- Household & membership data — your household’s name, currency, a display name and colour you pick for yourself, and your role within the household.
- Financial figures you enter — expenses, income entries, savings goals and contributions toward them, each with an amount, category, date, and an optional note, all typed in by you or another household member.
- To‑dos — task titles, who they’re assigned to, due dates, notes, and an optional cost.
- Calendar events — event titles, times, location, and which household member they’re associated with.
- Push notification data — a device token used to deliver notifications (like bill reminders or a weekly digest) to your phone, and your per‑member notification preferences.
- Subscription status — if your household subscribes to Havli Premium, we (via our subscription management provider, see “Who we share data with” below) hold your subscription’s status and plan (e.g. active, trialing, monthly, or yearly) so the app can unlock the features that plan includes. We never see your card number or other payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google as the operator of the app store you purchased through.
Why we collect it
All of the data above is collected for one reason: to run the core functionality of the app — letting your household track shared expenses, income, savings goals, to‑dos, and a shared calendar, and to notify you about the things you’ve asked to be notified about. Household financial data is visible to the other members of your household by design, since that shared visibility is the point of the app. It is never used for advertising, and Havli has no analytics or tracking SDKs of any kind built in.
Who we share data with
Havli uses a small number of third-party service providers to operate the app. They act as data processors on our behalf, under their own data processing terms — we don’t sell or share your data with anyone beyond what’s needed to run the app:
- Supabase — provides the database, authentication, and backend hosting that store and serve all of the data described above. Our Supabase database is hosted in the EU (AWS eu-west-1, Ireland), so this data stays within the EU/EEA — there’s no international transfer involved for this processor.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications to your device. Google receives your device’s push token for this purpose only. As part of Google’s global infrastructure, this does involve processing outside the EU; Google provides Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as its standard safeguard for that transfer.
- RevenueCat — manages Havli Premium subscriptions on our behalf. It receives a subscription identifier and your subscription’s status and plan from Apple or Google when you subscribe, so the app can recognize your household as Premium. RevenueCat does not receive your card number or other payment details.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — process the actual payment for a subscription directly, as the store you purchased through. Havli never receives or stores your card number or other payment details — that’s handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
How long we keep your data
Active household data (expenses, to‑dos, calendar events, and contributions toward savings goals) is kept for as long as your household uses Havli. To keep old, no-longer-relevant entries from piling up indefinitely, a scheduled housekeeping job automatically archives and removes entries once they are more than 24 months old (based on their original date, such as the date an expense occurred or a to‑do was created).
When an entry is archived this way, a snapshot of it is kept separately for a further 6 months before being permanently deleted, so that a mistaken automatic removal could still be investigated or recovered from in that window. Put simply: no individual expense, to‑do, or calendar entry is kept for longer than about 30 months after the date it originally relates to, and the system enforces this automatically on a monthly schedule.
Account data (your email address) and your household’s own current data are kept for as long as your account exists.
Your rights
If you’re in the EU/EEA or UK, data protection law (GDPR) gives you rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data — most of this you can already edit directly in the app.
- Delete your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability where applicable.
You can delete your own account directly in the app at any time — go to Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your login and profile; see “Delete Your Account and Data” below for exactly what happens to shared household data when you do. To exercise any of your other rights — such as requesting a copy of your data — email sim.mickevicius@gmail.com and we will action it directly.
Children’s privacy
Havli is intended for adults managing a household budget. The app does not currently ask for or verify anyone’s age during sign-up, so we have no reliable way to detect if a child has created an account. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we don’t design any feature specifically for them. If you believe a child has used Havli and provided personal data, please contact us at sim.mickevicius@gmail.com and we will delete the account.
Security
Household data is protected by database-level access rules that only allow members of a household to read or write that household’s own data. Push notification device tokens are restricted further, visible only to the account they belong to. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make a material change — for example, adding a new third-party service that processes your data — we’ll let you know inside the app. The “Effective” date at the top of this page always reflects the version currently in force.
Delete Your Account and Data
You can delete your Havli account yourself, immediately, from inside the app — go to Settings → Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes your login and profile.
If you’re the only member of a household, that household and everything in it (its expenses, to‑dos, calendar events, and savings goals) is deleted along with your account. If others still share the household with you, the household and their own data are kept — ownership simply passes to whoever has been a member the longest. Either way, any expense, to‑do, calendar entry, or savings contribution you personally logged is deleted along with your account, even in a household you shared with others, since that data is tied directly to your account.
Prefer not to use the in-app option, or can’t sign in? Email sim.mickevicius@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account with the subject line “Account Deletion Request,” and we will delete it for you within 30 days.
Delete Specific Data Within Havli
Havli users can delete individual pieces of data at any time, directly within the app, without deleting their account:
- Expenses and income entries can be deleted from the spending history screen
- To‑do items can be deleted by swiping on them in the to‑do list
- Calendar events can be deleted from the event detail screen
Deleted items are removed immediately from active use and are permanently purged from our systems in accordance with our data retention policy described above (archived after 24 months, permanently purged after 6 months in archive).
